Due to COVID-19, I couldn’t play the piano and was feeling disappointed, but a owner of a pizzeria, not so far from home and the office where I work, offered me the opportunity to play the piano. The piano was an old grand YAMAHA and I jumped with joy.
(The restaurant is closed during this situation and the owner give the space for practice. I am isolated and the windows are open. I feel flowing air there.)

Klagen Fisherman
is a self-taught musician, born in Arao, Kumamoto, Kyushu , south of Japan.
Ku-la-ge means “jellyfish” in Japanese language, that is one of my favorite animals, because of the beauty of its shape and of its “art de vivre”. Jellyfish have been in existence for at least 500 million years, and possibly 700 million years or more, making them the oldest multi-organ animal group. This means some “perfection” of form and function.
The word “Klagen” means “lament” in germany. I also love this aspect. The world is full of joy, but at the same time, full of misery.

Klagen Fisherman
est un musician autodidacte japonais, ne 1982 a Arao, Kumamoto, Kyushu, sud du japon. Il aime le style de vivre de la meduse, auquelle le mot japonaise correspondandt est “koulague”, et aime aussi que le mot allemant “klagen” veut dire cet animal flottant passivement dans la mer. c’est pour cela qu’il s’appelle “Klagen”. Son nom est “Fisherman”, mais il ne sait pas comment faire la peche. Il ne sait pas nager, non plus. Il adore l’ocean, parce qu’elle change toujours son visage avec le temps. C’est elle-meme une existence “musicale”.
Il cherche a trouver un paysage sonore, dans laquelle tous les sons sont traites “egaux”, une duree de de temps poreux, ouvert aux multiples singularites, a la diversite du monde.
Comme il n’a pas de piano, il va souvent a la gare et jouer du piano, ecoutant des sons, des bruits dans cette espace d’intersection.

【Klagen Fishermanについて】
Klagen Fishermanは、1982年熊本県生まれ。埼玉県、福岡県育ち。一年間、フランスに留学経験あり。一応、文学を勉強した。現在、普通の会社員。自称、音響景相家。17歳で、高校の音楽室でグランドピアノをはじめて触って以来、この楽器が大好きで、ぼちぼち、宝探しのように、失われた音を探しています。

ここで、音を巡る素晴らしい一節を、引いておきたいと思います。

重要なのは、現代の茸が直面している問題が何なのかをはっきりさせることだ。まず手始めに、どの音がどの茸の生育を促すかを明らかにすることを提案する。茸は茸自身音を発するかどうか。ある種の茸の菌褶は、適当に小さな羽をもつ昆虫がそれをピッチカートするのに使えるかどうか。山鳥茸の軸は、小さな虫が這入ったとき管楽器になるかどうか。その胞子は、まったく色々な大きさと形をしていて、まったく数え切れないほど沢山だが、大地に落ちたとき、ガムラン音楽のような響きがしないかどうか。そして最後に、微小なものとして存在しているにちがいないと私が思っているこのすべての生き生きとしたものが、電子工学の助けによって増幅され拡大されて、劇場に持ち込まれ、私達の楽しみをもっと興味深くすることができないかどうか。（『ジョン・ケージ著作選』小沼純一編 p.20）

自分の音作りに、まだまだ反映できていませんが、このくだりを、いつも胸に、日常と結びついた、個物に即したオンガクを、たのしんで、やっていけたらと、考えています。

失われた音、というのは、イデアルな雰囲気に包まれた言葉ですが…
