At a news conference outside his home in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau provides an update on the federal government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. In his remarks, the prime minister announces that eligibility for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) will be extended by eight weeks and that the closure of the Canada–U.S. border to non-essential travel will be prolonged until at least July 21, 2020.
