Deforestation and Climate Change

Carbon dioxide – large amounts of it – is believed to be the main contributor to climate change. Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring element in the atmosphere, but it is also a byproduct of fossil-fuel combustion. VOA’s Rebecca Ward reports that while nature provides the means to deal with carbon, environmentalists fear the best defense against greenhouse gas emissions is rapidly being destroyed.
