France plans to ban stores from throwing away unsold clothing.
Viva la France! Wasting food and clothing while people go hungry and cold should be a should be dealt with world wide. Every country should be doing this. Our whole economic system is flawed and unsustainable.
I think household and electrical good are a massive problem too. Once upon a time if equipment broke (toaster, fridge, tv) you would get it repaired. No one does this anymore – they chuck it out and buy a new one. It’s impossible to find anyone to repair these things. And clothes? No one bothers to get clothes repaired these days. Why would you when they are so cheap.

Fashion’s Dirty Secrets
Stacey Dooley Investigates
Stacey Dooley travels the world to uncover the hidden costs of the addiction to fast fashion. She witnesses the former Aral Sea, once one of the largest bodies of fresh water, now reduced almost entirely to dust.
These are shocking discoveries likely to make you think twice about whether you really need those new clothes.
