Hope, Coronavirus, and Climate Change: Building the Capacity to Act

One of the great challenges of living amid the turmoil of our times is avoiding despair. The Covid-19 pandemic, global economic fragility, political polarization, and climate disruption are all symptoms of our difficulty making the transition to sustainable living. To flourish in such times, we need to cultivate the skills of hoping well. Hope is sometimes confused with optimism or wishful thinking, but it is better understood as the capacity to motivate action even when the odds of success are low. Presented by William Throop, this webinar outlines the rationale for improving specific hope skills and how these will help us to navigate both the current pandemic and the long emergency of climate change.
