How to Prepare for a Trail Riding Adventure



Today I am going to give you a heads up on some items that you may want to have handy and safety checks to consider when going out on your day trail riding adventures.

I’m Monica O. Krause, creator of United Mustangs of America, a horsemanship academy with a focus on working with wild horses. Today I am going to share with you a few things you want to think about before going out with your horse on a trail ride.

Equipment Check List:
• Helmet
• Rope Halter & Lead Rope
• Saddle Pack(s)
• Fanny Pack
• Sunglasses
• Neck Gaiter
• Phone (can be used as flashlight and emergency)
• Power bank and cord
• ID Card with Your name and Emergency Contact Information
• First Aid Kit
• Business Cards
• Chapstick
• Sunscreen
• Knife
• Hoof Pick
• Screw Driver
• Extra Leather or cord
• Toilet Paper
• Horse & Human Snack
• Water (if desert climate, bring more than you think you need)

Safety Check:
• Tack condition
• Chicago Screw Tightness
• Feet
• Atire
