Jonathon was co-chair of Britain’s Green Party (1980-83) and Director of Friends of the Earth (1984-90). He co-founded Forum for the Future (the UK’s leading sustainable development charity) and is President of Population Matters. Discussing his latest book, Hope in Hell: A Decade to Confront the Climate Emergency, he takes a refreshingly optimistic standpoint. He argues that there is still time to avert that crisis, but only if we act immediately and radically, recognising that the global economy and social order must adapt to survive.
