A Norfolk doctor’s petition asking councils to do more to combat climate change, has taken off, with over 1,500 signatures since it was launched. Dr Hayley Pinto, a founder member of Climate Hope Action Norfolk, started the online petition titled, ‘Norfolk local councils must act on the climate emergency’ on change.org on the 10th of February. The petition had over 500 people sign within the first three days. A doctor and mother of three, Dr Pinto has lived in Norfolk for 25 years and she became interested in climate change after reading a report about the impacts on human health in the medical press. Our reporter Amie-Beth Steadman has the full story.
