In this #era of #global warming, #Gangotri #Glacier is also not untouched by the effects of global warming. #Incidents of #calamities are continuously coming to the fore in the higher #Himalayan #regions, due to which the origin of the fallen Pavani #Maa #Bhagirathi Ganga from the outline of the Gomukh Glacier to the #nature of the #journey has also changed. It is done, here the Ganges used to #originate from the shape of Gaumukh i.e. the face of a cow, but with the passage of time, due to the rapid melting of the glacier, the form of Gaumukh changed.
According to the information, a team that went to Gaumukh, Dr. Kapil Panwar, Prajapati Yadav, Shakti Doval says that this time the Ganges is emanating from an area of about 100 meters of glacier in Gaumukh. #Devotees coming here for darshan have to struggle hard. Earlier, the Gaumukh #Yatra used to be 18 km from Gangotri Dham via #Chidwasa and #Bhojwasa on the #left side of Bhagirathi, but last 2 years before the break of a lake above Gangotri Glacier, Bhojwasa was reached. Further, an area of about 3 km was washed away by the river, due to which now the Gomukh Yatra is going on the old route till Bhojwasa, but after that a hand operated team has to reach the other side of Bhagirathi where the passengers are facing a lot of problems. After reaching the other side by trolley here, devotees have to cover #additional #distance of 2 to 3 kms to reach Gaumukh.
Experts of the Himalayan region believe that the effect of global warming is more in the Gaumukh region. The #distance is increasing due to the #continuous sliding of Gaumukh.

#ग्लोबल वार्मिंग के इस दौर में #गंगोत्री #ग्लेशियर भी ग्लोबल वार्मिंग के असर से अछूता नहीं है उच्च हिमालई क्षेत्रों में आपदाओं की घटनाएं लगातार सामने आ रही है जिससे पतित पावनी मां भागीरथी गंगा की उद्गम स्थली गोमुख ग्लेशियर की रूप रेखा से लेकर यात्रा का स्वरूप भी परिवर्तित हो गया है, यहां गंगा पहले गौमुख यानी गाय के मुख की आकृति से निकलती थी लेकिन समय के साथ ग्लेशियर तेजी से पिघलने से गौमुख का रूप बदलता गया।
जानकारी अनुसार गौमुख गये एक दल डॉ. कपिल पंवार, प्रजापति यादव,शक्ति डोभाल कहते है कि इस बार गौमुख में गंगा करीब ग्लेशियर के 100 मीटर के क्षेत्र से निकल रही है । वही यहां दर्शन के लिए आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं को कड़ी मशक्कत करनी पड़ रही है ।गौमुख यात्रा पहले गंगोत्री धाम से 18 किलोमीटर भागीरथी के बाई तरफ चीड़वासा और भोजवासा होते हुए होती थी लेकिन गंगोत्री ग्लेशियर के ऊपर पिछले 2 साल पहले कोई झील टूटने से भोजवासा के आगे करीब 3 किलोमीटर का क्षेत्र नदी के सैलाब में बह गया जिससे अब गोमुख यात्रा भोजवासा तक पुराने ही रास्ते से हो रही है लेकिन इसके बाद हस्त चलित एक टोली के द्वारा भागीरथी की दूसरी तरफ पहुंचना पड़ रहा है जहां यात्रियों को खासी दिक्कतें उठानी पड़ रही है ।यहां ट्रॉली के द्वारा दूसरी तरफ पहुंचने के बाद श्रद्धालुओं को 2 से 3 किलोमीटर के अतिरिक्त दूरी भी गौमुख तक पहुंचने के लिए तय करनी पड़ रही है ।
हिमालयी क्षेत्र के विशेषज्ञय मानते है कि ग्लोबल वार्मिंग का असर गौमुख क्षेत्र में अधिक है। लगातार गौमुख का खिसकने से दूरी बढ़ती जा रही है।
