Sustainability and climate change will be made mandatory in Italian schools across all grades, in an attempt to position Italy as a world leader in environmental education.
“The idea is that the citizens of the future need to be ready for the climate emergency,” Cramarossa said, spokesperson for the education minister.
Italy intends to roll out sustainable development in more traditional subjects, including maths, physics and geography.
I want to make the Italian education system the first education system that puts the environment and society at the core of everything we learn in school,” he said.
