The Colorado River is drying up. Climate change and drought have taken a major toll.



Twenty-three years of drought have shrunk the flows out of the headwaters of the Colorado River. Rising temperatures have been making the drought worse for the more than 40 million people in cities from Denver to Los Angeles who depend on the river.
