The Transition – at Green High Street 2050, ATCM's Place Management Conference on 3rd March 2020



This panel debate helped reflect the scale of the change required for places and industries as part of the UK’s attempts to adapt to and mitigate climate change.

The panellists included:

Alison Dewey, Head of Culture & Tourism Strategy, Dept of Place, Southend-On-Sea Council
Representing a town exposed to flooding

Adrian Watson, CEO, Aberdeen Inspired
Representing the levy payers of a city world renowned for energy production and oil.

Kelvin Reynolds, Director of Corporate and Public Affairs, British Parking Association
Representing the parking industry as it faces demands for scale up of EV charging infrastructure and questions over capacity with attempts to deliver modal shifts to public transport.

David Johnston, Partner, Wedlake Bell LLP and Chair of Revo’s Sustainability Committee
Representing commercial property industry, a significant contributor to carbon emissions.

This debate took place at Green High Street 2050, ATCM’s Place Management Conference on the 3rd March 2020. This event explored the relationship between town centres and high streets and the climate emergency.
