2022 was the year South Africans were confronted with the stark reality and dangers of climate change. The KwaZulu-Natal flooding in April was the most devastating example. And the threat of more extreme weather exacerbates what we were discussing earlier – the fact that South Africa’s infrastructure is crumbling and roads and bridges in disrepair can be further damaged by rains and flooding.
