A Digital Ocean: Data and Science | Virtual Ocean Dialogues



We are in the midst of an explosion of new data on the ocean, from the proliferation of ocean observing systems to the ability to draw on social media and other complex digital sources.

But most ocean data is locked away, closely held by government agencies, companies, resource users or researchers. The urgent need, and new opportunity, is to make those data available to meet the pressing needs of the future.

The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation.
