Airplane ‘Contrails’ Add To Climate Change; Global Warming To Triple By 2050 #shorts

Contrails are clouds that form when water vapor condenses and freezes around small particles (aerosols) in aircraft exhaust. The water vapor comes from the air around the plane and the exhaust of the aircraft.

Scientists say contrails contribute to climate change by trapping heat that radiates upward from Earth’s surface. A study published in the journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics suggests that global warming will triple by 2050 as air travel grows in popularity and new technology enables planes to reach higher cruising altitudes where contrails tend to form.
