Australia – World Deforestation Hotspot | WWF-Australia



WWF’s Living Planet Report 2018 indicates that global wildlife populations have declined by 60% just over 40 years, with the most common cause being habitat loss.

Australia has been named as one of 11 deforestation hotspots alongside the Amazon, Congo Basin, Sumatra and Borneo. Australia is the only developed country to be listed.
