Bella Ciao ist ein italienisches Partisanenlied aus dem antifaschistischen Widerstand der 40er Jahre. 2019 sangen es „Die Sardinen“ zu Tausenden gegen den Rechtspopulismus. Auch die Klimaaktivisten der Bewegung „Extinction Rebellion“ griffen das Lied auf, texteten es um und singen es seither überall auf der Welt auf ihren Demonstrationen friedlichen zivilen Ungehorsams gegen die mangelhafte Klimapolitik ihrer Regierungen. Das Lied soll auf die Klimakatastrophe aufmerksam machen, die Politiker daran erinnern, ihre eigenen, mit der Unterzeichnung des Pariser Klimaabkommens unterzeichneten Abkommen gegeben Versprechen einzuhalten und es soll die Menschen dazu bewegen, mitzumachen, sie daran zu erinnern. Es geht darum, die Welt zum Besseren zu verändern, sowohl im großen politischen Kontext, wie im eigenen kleinen persönlichen Umfeld. Die Zeit drängt. Unser CO2 Budget ist bald verbraucht. Daher schließt sich die Berliner Sängerin Marianne Blum an und singt diese „Climate Emergency Version“ des Widerstands-Klassikers, begleitet von dem wunderbaren mexikanischen Gitarristen Carlos Corona (ja, er heißt wirklich so!). Bella Ciao is an Italian partisan song from the anti-fascist resistance of the 1940s. In 2019 “The Sardines” sang it against the right-wing populism of the “Lega Nord”. The climate activists of the “Extinction Rebellion” movement also took up the song, rewrote it and since then have been singing it around the world on their demonstrations of peaceful civil disobedience to the poor climate policies of their governments. The song aims to draw attention to the climate catastrophe, remind politicians to keep their own promises made when the Paris climate agreement was signed, and encourage people to participate in the demonstrations but also in the process of finding solutions. We need to change the world for the better, as well in a broad political context as in our own personal environment. Time is running out. Our CO2 budget will soon be used up. Therefore, the Berlin singer Marianne Blum joins the movement and sings this “Climate Emergency Version” of the resistance classic, accompanied by the wonderful Mexican guitarist Carlos Corona (his true name!).
