The unseasonable Summer cold weather is certainly having an impact on our vegetable garden this year. The Summer crops are slow to take off but we are hopeful that the weather will warm up soon and we will get some great harvests. Cold weather plant necrosis can occur in summer crops (e.g. beans, corn, sunflowers, peppers) because the plants can’t draw nitrogen from the soil as readily as they would in a normal season. Some warm weather will fix this.
