Global Warming

Global warming occurs when the temperature of the earth increases but cannot escape back into space. This results in the “greenhouse effect.” There are many causes of global warming, but the burning of fossil fuels is the main reason behind it. As the world’s population grows, fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas are used more frequently. Fossil fuel emits carbon into the atmosphere when it is burned. Carbon is a chemical element that increases temperatures in the atmosphere. Deforestation is another main cause of global warming. We know that plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. We are cutting trees mindlessly. Increased pollution also means more carbon in the atmosphere. We, the people on the planet, are exhaling carbon dioxide, which causes an increase in temperature. Climate and weather patterns on the planets are changing as a result of global warming. As a result, catastrophic natural disasters are taking place frequently on Earth. Melting snow, tsunamis, flooding, heavy rains, and draughts have all become common natural disasters in recent years. This is a serious threat to the existence of humans and other animals on the planet. If we want to save humanity and make the planet habitable, we have to stop burning fossil fuels and stop deforestation. We also need to plant trees continuously and boost the use of renewable energy sources like solar power, wind energy, and ocean currents.

পৃথিবীর তাপমাত্রা বৃদ্ধি পেলেও মহাকাশে ফিরে যেতে না পারলে গ্লোবাল ওয়ার্মিং ঘটে। এর ফলে “গ্রিনহাউস ইফেক্ট” হয়। বৈশ্বিক উষ্ণায়নের অনেক কারণ আছে, কিন্তু জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানি পোড়ানোই এর পেছনে প্রধান কারণ। বিশ্বের জনসংখ্যা বৃদ্ধির সাথে সাথে জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানী যেমন কয়লা, তেল এবং প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস আরও ঘন ঘন ব্যবহার করা হয়। জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানী পোড়ানো হলে বায়ুমণ্ডলে কার্বন নির্গত করে। কার্বন একটি রাসায়নিক উপাদান যা বায়ুমণ্ডলে তাপমাত্রা বাড়ায়। বিশ্ব উষ্ণায়নের আরেকটি প্রধান কারণ বন উজাড়। আমরা জানি যে গাছপালা কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড শোষণ করে এবং অক্সিজেন ছেড়ে দেয়। আমরা নির্বিচারে গাছ কাটছি। বর্ধিত দূষণ মানে বায়ুমণ্ডলে আরও কার্বন। আমরা, গ্রহের মানুষ, কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করছি, যা তাপমাত্রা বৃদ্ধির কারণ। বৈশ্বিক উষ্ণায়নের ফলে আমাদের গ্রহের জলবায়ু ও আবহাওয়ার ধরণ পরিবর্তিত হচ্ছে। ফলে পৃথিবীতে প্রতিনিয়ত ভয়াবহ প্রাকৃতিক বিপর্যয় ঘটছে। সাম্প্রতিক বছরগুলিতে গলে যাওয়া তুষার, সুনামি, বন্যা, ভারী বৃষ্টিপাত এবং খড়া সবই সাধারণ প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগে পরিণত হয়েছে। এটি গ্রহের মানুষ এবং অন্যান্য প্রাণীর অস্তিত্বের জন্য একটি গুরুতর হুমকি। আমরা যদি মানবতাকে বাঁচাতে এবং গ্রহটিকে বাসযোগ্য করে তুলতে চাই তবে আমাদের জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানি পোড়ানো বন্ধ করতে হবে এবং বন উজাড় বন্ধ করতে হবে। আমাদের ক্রমাগত গাছ লাগাতে হবে এবং সৌরশক্তি, বায়ু শক্তি এবং সমুদ্রের স্রোতের মতো পুনর্নবীকরণযোগ্য শক্তির উৎসগুলির ব্যবহার বাড়াতে হবে।
