Jovia – Music Composed to NASA's Incredible Juno Mission to Jupiter

If we are to deal successfully with the many challenges we face on earth at this difficult time – whether it be coronavirus, the climate emergency or social issues and geo-political unrest – our journeys inward need to be as courageous and collaborative as our journeys outward.

One of these journeys started back in 2011 when NASA launched its Juno space mission to Jupiter from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Since then, the spacecraft has sent back to earth the most incredible hi-res images of Jupiter’s atmospheric weather and cloud patterns. JOvIa (standing for Jupiter Orbit Insertion) is U:guru’s audiovisual tribute to this daring mission to perhaps the most bewildering, ominous and mysterious planet in the solar system.

The video and its soundtrack were both created by U:guru, with music mixdown and mastering undertaken by Leonidas Love (www.facebook.com/leonidas.lovetoparty). All the images used were 2d stills and have been manipulated to approximate the changing 3d perspective of journeying in orbit around Jupiter. The beautifully majestic silhouetted movement in the video was danced by Claire Cox.

JOvIa is the follow-up single to U:guru’s debut solo recording – Into the Sun – which was released in February this year. This was U:guru’s first solo recording as a sax player and EDM artist.

It is hoped the release of U:guru’s 2nd solo recording – JOvIa – will mark this point in history for some, as an awe-inspiring illustration of what is possible when humans make a concerted effort to reach beyond perceived limitations.
