Did you know that in Peru coffee producers are generating income by combating climate change?
In a joint project of Solidaridad and Rabobank, through its ACORN platform, more than a thousand producers are participating in the international market of carbon credits by implementing climate-smart agricultural practices.
They plant trees on their plots, in combination with coffee or cocoa, are monitored by satellite, and are remunerated based on the amount of carbon emissions reduced.
