Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese “made a promise he could never keep” in promising Australians a reduction in their energy bills.
“I call it a lie,” Mr Bolt said.
“Even the government admits power prices will go up by 56 per cent over the next year and a half.
“This is extremely serious. Some businesses will struggle to survive. A lot of the poor won’t be able to afford to heat their homes.”
Mr Bolt said the reason power prices have increased “is not just because of the war in Ukraine”.
“It’s more because of the global warming policies that have helped to destroy one third of our coal-fired power stations without anything cheap and reliable to replace them.”
