Simon McBurney read his Letter to the Earth: 'The Act of Naming'

As part of an online Letters to the Earth event with Culture Declare’s ‘The Offer’, in which letters were read, written and spoken together via a Zoom conference on April 8th 2020. Simon McBurney of Complicite Theatre gave a special reading of his own letter that features in the book Letters to the Earth: Writing to a Planet in Crisis.

Based on a conversation with Simon McBurney’s daughter.
With sound by Gareth Fry, engineered by Pete Malkin and Ben Grant.

The Offer is a response to the context of Coronavirus and the devastating impact it has had on our society, and not least on the creative and cultural community. It is a space for anyone involved in or interested in a cultural response to the climate and ecological emergency to gather, to question, to share, and to support each other.

It will be happening every Wednesday through to the end of May and then once a month, at 11am for conversation-based sessions and 7.30pm for creative and regenerative sessions. If anyone is interested in making an offer and leading a session please do get in touch at culturedeclares@gmail.com or via our social media.
