Dealing with Disasters (Webinar hosted by AWA VIC)



The effects of climate change and aging infrastructure have made emergency situations more commonplace. This webinar will look at preparing for emergency events, maintaining essential services during a crisis and managing the aftermath.

Rachael Brownstein, Treatment and Environment Systems Officer at East Gippsland Water, will cover the actions taken by East Gippsland Water to ensure the supply of drinking water to the townships of Omeo, Buchan and Mallacoota during the East Gippsland Bushfire crisis.

Rod Curtis, Manager Water Systems and Solutions at Western Water, has been heading up their COVID response taskforce from the get go and will talk about his experiences.

Damian Wells, Managing Director at Coliban Water, will present on Coliban’s pro-active efforts and communications in reorganising Coliban Water’s response team from the onset during the Covic19 pandemic.

Wayne Charlton, Security & Emergency Management Specialist at Melbourne Water will discuss their response to both the bushfire and Covid19 crises.
